As if that weren’t enough, Buggs' legal woes took a darker turn on June 16. He was booked on serious charges of domestic violence and burglary in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. These charges led to the revocation of his bail for the earlier animal cruelty case, adding another layer of complexity to his already troubled situation.
Amid the mounting allegations, Buggs' agent, Trey Robinson, has emerged in his defense. Robinson claims that Buggs is the target of a “subversive campaign” designed to force the closure of his hookah lounge in Tuscaloosa. Isaiah Buggs entered the NFL through a different storm. After showcasing his skills with two seasons at the University of Alabama, the Pittsburgh Steelers picked him in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Buggs spent three seasons with the Steelers before moving to the Detroit Lions for two more seasons. His latest chapter with the Chiefs began in January when he was signed as a practice squad player and subsequently re-signed to a futures contract in February. Rashee Rice and Other Legal Woes

According to police reports, Rice was involved in a six-car crash in Dallas that injured at least seven people. The incident occurred when Rice was allegedly driving at an alarming speed of 119 mph on a freeway before causing the collision. He now faces a slew of charges, including one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injury.
Adding to the complications, Rice is also under investigation for an alleged assault in a Dallas nightclub. The man reportedly injured by Rice has expressed a desire not to press charges, but the investigation continues.
Challenges Extend Beyond Star Players
The Chiefs' legal headaches are not confined to their star players. Offensive linemen Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick have both found themselves in legal trouble, albeit for less severe allegations. Last month, both were arrested in Johnson County, Kansas, on misdemeanor possession of marijuana charges. While these charges are less severe than those faced by Buggs and Rice, they nonetheless add to the team's off-field distractions.
